Actemium Oil & Gas Maintenance

FPSO PSVM, Offshore Angola

PSVM consists of four oil fields – Plutão, Saturno, Vénus and Marte – all discovered between 2002 and 2004 in water depths of up to 2,000 metres, in the North East part of Block 31 in Angola. Oil is produced through a converted hull, floating, production, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) and is the first FPSO in Angola ultra-deep water. It is operated by Actemium on behalf of BP Angola.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Due to the overall dated and deteriorating condition of the existing mess room on board the FPSO PSVM, the client contracted ICE with a view to upgrading the full area. This included five bespoke modern self-service integrated food and beverage stations.

We also supplied and installed new catering and refrigeration equipment, wall cladding, floor coverings and new dining tables and chairs.

“ICE delivered. Their work was excellent and we really appreciated all the effort they made to complete the galley upgrade despite all the blockers faced.”

THE SOLUTION

B15 RATED WALLS, CEILINGS AND DOORS
The project started with the destruction phase. The existing mess room floor sub screed was removed back to steel deck before being relaid using a marine grade flexible deck screed and an Amtico marine range vinyl plank floor covering. The existing internal walls were overclad using Fastclad panelling.
Our project design layout included an improved personnel flow around the five bespoke marine spec servery counters. These included an island-style main hot food servery station, a soup counter, a desert and drinks counter, a breakfast and coffee counter, and a waste disposal unit. All carcasses were constructed with 403 grade stainless steel, faced with fire rated MDF core panels and doors, then fitted with solid surface counter tops.

The new marine spec integrated catering equipment supplied and installed included two Bain Marie units, each with an overhead gantry and hot cupboard underneath, a cold well with gantry and refrigerated under storage, a refrigerated multi deck unit, a glass door refrigerator, conveyor toaster, microwave, juice dispenser, coffee machine, ice cream dispenser, ice machine, a soup well and heated plate dispensers. The installation phase included upgraded plumbing and electrical services.

THE TEAM

The project was designed, procured, and delivered by our onshore project team and was executed by our offshore team consisting of three joiners and an electrician.

THE OUTCOME

The work took place over a 30-day period and with all works complete on schedule and within budget. There were no health and safety issues.
