Cygnus Platform, UK

Case Study

NEPTUNE ENERGY

Cygnus Offshore Platform

The Cygnus platform lies 150Km off the shore of Lincolnshire and has been producing gas since 2016. It’s one of the largest North Sea developments with four platforms and ten wells. It produces around 8% of all UK gas and accommodates 80 people on board. You can even tour the platform and see the galley area on a special Google Streetview tour at www.spirit-energy.com/cygnus/

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Although the operators have general electrical maintenance and inspection plans in place within the accommodation areas, there is no bespoke maintenance plans for the galley and laundry area equipment. Faced with a growing list of equipment defects, ICE was asked to survey the status of the equipment in these areas and to provide a commercial proposal which included scheduled visits to carry out routine maintenance for all the catering, laundry, and refrigeration equipment in the living quarter area.

“We have recently had the ICE engineer out offshore on his first trip. He worked to a very high standard and was always professional and very helpful in all matters.”

THE SOLUTIONS

Following our survey visit, ICE put together a cost proposal for two visits each year to the offshore asset. Our experienced and fully-trained technicians maintain and repair the onboard catering, laundry, and refrigeration equipment. After each visit, the client receives a detailed report which feeds into the platform’s maintenance management system. The report includes any changes to platform equipment and we also replenish stock spares where necessary.
